Dezirae + Rajan | Lexington Engagement Photographer

Next May, Dezirae will be the most stunning bride not once, but twice.  I am super excited to be a part of her becoming Mrs. Rajan Shukla, and not just because she is stunning - but because she is one of the most kind and gracious people you will ever know.  We went to high school together, and I can't think of one time that she ever acted out of character.  She's always encouraging, sweet and polite.  My favorite kind of bride!  And to top it off, she and Rajan are having two ceremonies to celebrate both of their traditions. And listen to this.  Long, stinky story short:  I got stuck in traffic the day of their engagement - stuck until the sun was nearly down.  Their only response upon my arrival was, when would it be most convenient to slide back into my schedule.  Convenient?  They should have been mad or at the very least crabby, but all I got was an encouraging smile and great laughter for the little bit of time we got to shoot before dusk.  The following evening I headed back to Lexington and we had the best time with their puppy, Bailey, as we visited the Henry Clay Estate, Gratz Park and the restaurant they dined in on the night of their engagement.

There are so many things to love about Dez and Raj.  The way he tells silly jokes and long not-jokes to make her grin.  Or the way she looks to him to lead and care for her.  She jokes that they're old people, with all their studying and staying home.  But I think they're perfect little people, with the sweetest kind of love: comfortable and plain.  You can tell Raj loves Dez for who she is.  Sweet, spunky, crazy-smart and driven, did I mention she speaks and teaches French?  And Raj is a genius in his own right.

I'm so glad to be a part of your big day, to have some of my best friends in your bridal party - but mostly to be able to document your love story more intimately, because I've gotten to know you.  Enjoy!
