Joshua + Laura | River Inn Wedding | Memphis, Tennessee | Part 1

Oh Memphis, sweet, crisp Memphis.  I thought you were 4 hours from Louisville, turns out you were 6 from Frankfort.  And did I say crisp?  Laura was a champ to be a blushing bride in 102 degree heat.  Oh golly, it was warm, but she and her ladies had the best of times.  And their bridal party was the sweetest - I don't think I heard a single complaint about the weather all day long. We started the day out in Jessica's hotel room while The River Inn got a room ready for us.  And my goodness, was the room at the Inn gorgeous or what?  Chocolate walls and the most beautiful bed.  Josh and Laura chose to do their first look there, in the comfort of the AC and it was so sweet and so pretty.  He's always kissing her on the forehead, telling her she's gorgeous and grinning ear to ear when he's with her.  And she relaxes the minute he comes strolling around with his stethoscope cufflinks and quiet wit.

Everything about their day was perfect, from the fresh peonies to the khaki J.Crew dresses to Laura's fit-like-a-glove wedding gown.  There were sweet details for miles.  Tissue flowers hanging at the alter, yummy cupcakes, gorgeous roses in antique vases, coffee favors, a well-wishes board, so much goodness.  When I got the call from Jessica about shooting her friend's wedding, I knew I was in for not only great people but great details.  They delivered for sure.

Now, after watching Josh and Laura share their first look, I thought I would be good to go on the crying front.  Turns out I was wrong.  I really should have known when I met her bridal party.  Most incredible, kind and sincere prayer time I've ever been a part of.  And living in the 'South' I've heard my share of prayers.  Josh and Laura are blessed to have such invested friends.

The rest of the day went just perfectly.  The outdoor ceremony with the Mississippi River in the background, a stop at Beale Street and a great band at a sweet reception.  Thanks to Krista, who traveled to Memphis with me and helped shoot these images.  And now that's we've been and mingled with the Fischers, I'd be glad to return each weekend if the time would be as great as a night on the Missisip with Josh and Laura.  Enjoy!
