Kate + Jason | Christ the King Wedding | Part One

Soccer and school brought them together and their best soccer and school friends stood at their sides as Kate and Jason were married on a beautiful, Spring Saturday.  Kate and Jason are the kind of people you want to be around.  Consistently joyful, encouraging and sweet.  Kate has a gentle and warm spirit, is consistently friendly and gracious.  Jason is kind, relaxed and so in love with Kate.  Photographing their wedding was a blast! We arrived at Christ the King in Lexington, Ky. and got to work photographing the beautiful details.  Kate wore her Mother's veil, family jewelry and carried a bouquet made by Magnolia Floral Designs full of yellow and white ranunculus, ruffled tulips and wax flower.  So gorgeous.  Her fun bridesmaids wore dresses from Twirl Lexington and carried coordinating yellow bouquets.  Kate's bridesmaids were all so calm, helpful and joyful!  Have you ever seen such a happy bow-tyer?!  LOVE this couple's first look.  Jason was quietly waiting until Kate walked out - and then he was all smiles.  LOVE her mother's veil and her beautiful bouquet.  Ms. Suzi at Magnolia made those great letters for the church, too!  Love them!Love this image of a few last minute conversations Kate shared with her father before walking down the aisle. Kate's beautiful ring and band - what she didn't know was that Jason would later surprise her!  At Christ the King, the girls wait in the tiny stairwell - always makes for great moments and whispered conversations. Kate's sweet parents went to great lengths to make their daughter's day magical.  Wait until the second post - you just might cry, too!  I LOVE how glad and smiley Jason's brother was when walking his Grandma to the front.  One of my most favorites.  Those last minutes with Dad have replaced my other favorite wedding moment of seeing the groom's face as he sees his bride for the first time.  Love.  Jason's pretty Momma had the best, most proud expressions the whole wedding through.  Jason pulled this wedding band out of his pocket once we stepped outside the church.  A little surprise for Kate who didn't think she'd be wearing two bands until several years down the road.  LOVE his heart for Kate.  So sweet. We hopped in a party bus, had a little fun and made a few stops on Transylvania University's campus and in Gratz Park for some portraits.  So.  Much.  Bling.  This is what boys do when you ask them to 'bring it in close.'  Oh my.  Their soccer coach showed up to let us on to Transy's soccer field, where everyone played during their college days.  So fun.

Stay tuned for part two of Kate + Jason's sweet wedding!
