Held at Evangel World Prayer Center, Kathlyn & Chad's occasion was purely theirs, from her childhood pastor officiating to her grandmother's ring tacked in her dress. Even the crowd of family and friends that hung around to meet and greet until the end were demonstrative of the couple's relationship. They met via Match.com early last year, and quickly fell in love. When I met Kathlyn in the fall, they had planned to have a wedding a bit later this year, but couldn't stand to wait much longer. Though she felt the pains of planning such a huge occasion in such a short amount of time, her joy-filled day proved to be as classy as she described at our first meeting.
The winter ceremony was missing only a snowy day. Completed with live trees wrapped in lights and rich, champagne satin bridesmaid dresses, the ceremony was very personal and started with a friends' reading as Kathy stood in the aisle, aside her father.
The note was written to her by a dear friend, just a short time before she met Chad and was filled with encouragement; a promise that God would reveal her husband to her in his time and that, until then, she should grow herself in the Lord. The reading was a touching beginning to their ceremony.
The ladies carried candles, the groom left his jacket unbuttoned in his classic, relaxed manner as the couple vowed to join their love of Christ, musical interests and commitment to family together.
Though Kathy stressed much about her big day, I found it to be classy, yet casually "them." Congrats on your wedding - I was fortunate to be invited and hope your vacation is spectacular! Enjoy!
The flower ladies...they were killer...funniest kids EVER.
Chad with his mother.
Kathlyn's Matron of Honor reading a devotional before the ceremony.
There weren't any dry eyes. :-)
Chad played a mean piano, to fill the pre-ceremony downtime.
The light was fabulous.
How gorgeous, right?
I'm a big fan of the couple's reception slide show - theirs included a video where they told how they met. LOVED IT!
