Loo Loves | Weddings, Weddings, and More Weddings!
Have I mentioned how much I love weddings? I warned y'all back in March when I started working here that I was obsessed.. I have a feeling that some of you may have under estimated my addiction - and rightfully so considering most people aren't as strange (or awesome?) as I am ; ). Not that I really need a reason to justify my love, but I do feel a little more at ease knowing that the wedding industry is most certainly the direction that the Lord is leading me to. However, it seems that every day it's becoming easier and easier to catch the wedding bug with the addition of amazing blogs and websites all drenched with wedding details - and thank goodness, because this now means that my single self doesn't have to sneak through the U-Scan aisle at Kroger hiding a bridal magazine under my Lean Cuisines just to get my fix. (Yes, this has happened before. Please don't judge me). I think it's only fair that I share my little online treasures with those of you who share the same love that I do, even if yours isn't as out of hand as mine. Here are just a few of the blogs that I am absolutely loving right now and are all worthy of checking out.
Meet lover.ly. If you have never been here before, I would like to say 'You're welcome' and 'I'm sorry' all at once because I'm seriously about to rock your world and most likely wreck your productivity as well. This site is pure heaven for the wedding obsessed, plus as a member you can put together boards, collections, and even find out where you can purchase the items that you love. It's such a great organizational tool for keeping up with the trends as well as effectively planning for your big day.
Wedding Row Kentucky is pretty much a Louisville/Lexington bride's best friend. It's the ultimate wedding site for all things Kentucky related. I love being able to check out the local trends as well as finding and hearing about vendors that I haven't been able to work with or see in action yet. If you're stumped on where you're going to buy your flowers or still trying to find the perfect caterer, this site has it all. Check out their preferred vendors tab at the top, and start taking notes!
Ruffled is actually a new found obsession of mine, but oh so happy to have stumbled on it. They have a lot of really great featured weddings as well as DIY projects, vendor suggestions, and even a shop too where brides can rent, recycle, etc.
Last, but most certainly not least, 100 Layer Cake. I can't help but to love a site that is extremely well designed, and this one is definitely that. Appearance aside, this website has a whole lot to offer for the planning bride or wedding obsessed. Between the blog, the shop, the DIY section, and the vendor tab, there's just so much goodness!
I'm sure a lot of you are thinking, "Wait, what about Pinterest?!". I know, I know. To be completely honest with you, Pinterest and I have a little love-hate relationship when it comes to weddings (recipes though, not at all. It's love-love all the way. I can and will stare at your fabulous baked goods for hours on end). However keeping wedding planning and inspiration in mind, I'm more so drawn to blogs such as these that have unique ideas and can offer photos of real weddings as well. I think there's something to be said about finding inspiration that hasn't been repined, recreated, and overdone by thousands and thousands of people - however, I'm completely on board with this repining action when it involves sharing recipes such as this one (you're welcome, by the way). To put it simply, when it comes to wedding planning I'm all about being unique, and I think every bride deserves to have a day that she can be positive is all hers!
