Sarah + Skip | Hilton Garden Inn Wedding
It was back in June when Sarah and her mom Diana came to our shop for a wedding consult. After making a bit of small talk, I asked Sarah to tell me about her fiancé, Skip, and she lit right up. One of the most interesting things I think she told me that day was that Skip loves shoes, which is something I totally can relate to. I've always loved shoes. From the time I got my first pair of Air Jordan's till today, I have been obsessed with finding good, unique, shoes.Although none of mine compare to the pair of neon blue and orange sneaks that Skip whipped out at the wedding... they we're amazing! And Sarah, well she had a pair of fuschia pumps. Together they were perfect sole mates :)
Skip and Sarah are precious. They're the kind of couple that make you feel comfortable right from the get go. This was my very first solo wedding at Lizzie Loo, and it felt a little weird not having Elizabeth by my side for the evening, but from the moment I arrived at the Hilton Garden Inn, I hit the ground running. Sarah was still getting dressed, but paused for a minute after I arrived to read a note from Skip addressed to the "Soon to be Mrs. Burke." I could see the excitement in Sarah's eyes as she finished preparations for the ceremony that was about to start.
Although it was late October, the weather was gorgeous, and luckily no rain. The ceremony was held in the hotel's garden (just outside of the main ballroom), which made the perfect intimate setting for their sweet little ceremony. Following the ceremony, guests attended a cocktail hour inside, while we made portraits outside, and then it was on to the reception.
Everything that night was amazing. Despite a few hiccups, like the cake falling, everyone remained calm and the rest of the evening went off without a hitch. Probably the most memorable part of the reception was the photo booth. One of my favorite moments of the night came when the whole bridal party piled into the tiny booth for portraits. It was the perfect ending to a perfect day!
